Over the summer, Rheem rolled out a new furnace, the 90%+ Gas Furnace platform. The new furnace is not only energy efficient, it’s quiet and it’s easy to maintain, offering consumers a great value. Plus, its improved installation and multi-poise design makes the 90%+ unit easy to install. The new Rheem furnaces maintain the 34-inch height of the old ones, so that older homes can be retrofitted with these new energy-efficient models. Contractors can select a left, right, up flow or down flow for faster, more flexible installation.
The new furnace operates with 20 percent less noise than older Rheem and Ruud units, eliminating the disturbance of operating sounds through the use of rubber vibration isolators, reduced blower wattage and an improved heat exchanger. The 90%+ Gas Furnace platform boasts 98 percent annual fuel utilization energy, which means that 98 BTUs of actual heat are output for every 100 BTU put through the system with only 2 BTU wasted. This places Rheem’s new line of furnaces among the most energy efficient furnaces available to consumers.
Customers may be able to redeem a federal tax credit to save money by installing an energy efficient Rheem furnace. The $150 tax credit is good through the end of 2013 and can incentivize customers to upgrade their old furnace with a new quieter, more energy efficient model.
