How We Compare Prices
Every price comparison is based on the net cost after rebates. This means we compare your final out-of-pocket price after all qualifying rebates, tax credits, utility incentives, manufacturer promotions, and discounts have been applied to both our proposal and the competing quote. A competing contractor’s price is not considered lower simply because its initial price is lower if its final cost after incentives is higher.
Comparisons must involve equivalent equipment, including the same or a comparable brand level, system capacity, and efficiency rating. The scope of work must also be equivalent, including electrical work, permits, code-required improvements, removal and disposal of existing equipment, and warranty protection. If the competing quote excludes work necessary for a safe, complete, or code-compliant installation, Indoor Air Quality, Inc. will calculate the cost of that work and include it in the comparison.
Eligible Quotes
To be eligible for comparison, the competing quote must:
- Be provided in writing and itemized, with the equipment brand, model number or comparable specifications, and included scope of work clearly identified
- Be dated no more than thirty (30) days before it is submitted to Indoor Air Quality, Inc.
- Be issued for the same property by a licensed and insured HVAC contractor located in and serving the Denver metro area
- Be independently verifiable; Indoor Air Quality, Inc. may contact the contractor that issued the quote to confirm its authenticity
Verbal estimates, advertised prices, promotional offers that do not appear on an actual written quote for your property, screenshots, online instant estimates, and quotes that cannot be verified are not eligible for comparison.
How Rebates and Incentives Are Applied
Only rebates and incentive programs that are currently open, funded, and accepting applications at the time of the comparison will be included. You must also meet all applicable eligibility requirements, including income qualifications, utility service-area requirements, and equipment specifications.
Expired, closed, waitlisted, fully reserved, or otherwise unavailable programs will be excluded from both quotes. Rebates available for both proposals will be applied equally to both. If a competing quote includes rebates for which you do not qualify—or incentives that are no longer accepting applications—those amounts will be removed before the comparison is made.
Exclusions
The comparison does not apply to:
- Quotes from contractors who are not properly licensed and insured
- Properties outside the Indoor Air Quality, Inc. service area, multifamily properties, or new-construction projects
- Water heaters, ductwork-only projects, repairs, or maintenance services
- Builder-grade, discontinued, used, or refurbished equipment
- Quotes containing clear pricing mistakes or below-cost, clearance, or liquidation pricing
- Quotes from contractors who share common ownership or an affiliation with the customer
Verification and Limitations
Any pricing offered following a comparison remains preliminary until Indoor Air Quality, Inc. confirms the equipment, project scope, and site conditions during an in-home estimate.
Only one competing quote may be submitted per household and project. Any resulting pricing cannot be combined with other Indoor Air Quality, Inc. promotions or discounts unless specifically stated otherwise and has no cash value.
Indoor Air Quality, Inc. will determine in good faith whether a competing quote is comparable based on the equipment, scope of work, and rebate eligibility. That determination is final. Indoor Air Quality, Inc. reserves the right to decline quotes that do not satisfy these requirements or to change or discontinue the comparison program at any time. Changes will not affect pricing already confirmed in writing.
